Sasha wears only black and beige so no one will notice her, but her new foster mother buys her lime green bathing suits and introduces Sasha to her quirky friends. They tell Sasha how they miss having pets, so Sasha hatches a plan to overturn a rule that forbids pets at the retirement community in South Florida where they all live. She recruits her new best friend to help. In spite of forces working for her eviction, Sasha discovers a compassion for homeless animals and finds the courage to act on it.
